Attending my uncle Harry's funeral at First Presbyterian Church- Leroy, Il

My childhood church, first time in about 45 years. Singing a hymn, remembering my grandmother's voice. Wynters Staley playing the organ. Phyllis Bruce (who was there today) and Rosie Owens teachers in Sunday School rooms in "dungeon". Funeral dinner was in basement,  recalling Vacation Bible School when 8th grade girls made the Kool Aid.

On the spot  where 52 years ago I was the angel who appeared before the shepherds and proclaimed "Behold I bring you glad tidings of great joy..."

The podium and altar table that my great grandparents donated to the church

Spring Cleanup

May 2015

Beautiful bleeding hearts, one of my favorite flowers.

Terry tackling the Japanese honeysuckle with the loppers; what an invasive plague that stuff is!

Bluebells

Snake skin! T found it in the honeysuckle he was cutting.  A long snake lives here, and welcome to keep chipmunks and mice under control.

Several years ago I gathered seeds of wild Dutchman's Britches and scattered them in my backyard. This year they are blooming!

A January Day

January 22, 2015. Where does the time go? Enjoying two holiday gifts on my dining table while sipping my tea. The candle holder  tree from my daughter Jenny and the happy snowman from my sis-in-law Vicky. It's a cloudy morning, but tolerable weather for January so far; no major storms (fingers crossed). Been sewing on quilts a lot, keeping up with weekly and monthly goals. Joined the new yoga studio in town-it's been good to supplement my home practice of 40+ years! to support local business.
